We’re excited to invite you to the exhibition opening, Compass, showcasing the work of Avinoam Sternheim and Erika Linor Kutzuk. Their art explores the themes of home and humanity in context of ideas as control and the cycles of life.

Avinoam Sternheim’s work uses marionette theater concept as a metaphor for our human condition today. His pieces show how our connections to the past, family, society, and our identity act like invisible strings of puppets. His three main pieces—The Child, The Unknown Soldier Marionette, and Geppetto—offer different views on childhood, adulthood, and old age, creating a continuous cycle of life.

Erika Linor Kutzuk focuses on the idea of home. Her works — compass, and scale — combines pieces to form an image or an object, moving between a home that’s falling apart and one that’s being rebuilt as a hopeful place of safety. Her art captures the home in moments of construction and deconstruction or destruction, highlighting this specific movement in our lives and the balance between ruin and growth. It subjects the idea of home in the context of change and stability, from trauma to growth.

The Nico Nitai Gallery continues our tradition of supporting independent art. We aim to provide an alternative space for artists and audiences, we’ll promote high-quality contemporary art that’s accessible to everyone. Our goal is to offer a new alternative that challenges traditional gallery norms and makes art and gallery opportunities available to different audience, independent artists and curators
